DPMM FC hammer Nelayan 8-0

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office attended a Brunei FA Cup 2022 match between DPMM FC and Nelayan FT at the Jerudong Mini Stadium last night.

Also in attendance was Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim.

The Gegar Gegar men, who are expected to progress into the next round, continued their ruthless streak in Group ‘E’ following a 8-0 win against the Belait outfit.

The notable absentee from the squad was young forward Hakeme Yazid bin Said, who was on national duty for the under-20 team in the afternoon against the Sarawak under-20 team during a Tier II international friendly match.

Newly-installed team captain Azwan Ali Rahman opened the floodgates in the 12th minute for Mohammad Helme bin Panjang’s second official match in charge of the team.

DPMM FC evergreen forward Muhammad Shahrazen Said scored in the 24th minute with Azwan Mohd Salleh joining the old-timers in the score-sheet.

Muhammad Shahrazen and Azwan doubled their personal tally on the night to put the rampant hosts 5-0 up before half-time.

The seasoned campaigners completed their hat trick in the second half with Muhd Nurikhwan Othman also in the score-sheet at the death.

DPMM FC also enjoyed a second successive clean sheet having initially began their campaign with a resounding 18-0 against Seri Wira FC.

The former FA Cup winners will look to add their name to the trophy, which they last won in 2004.
