    DPMM FC ‘A’ crowned Football Fanfare champions

    DPMM FC ‘A’ emerged champion in the DPMM FC Football Fanfare 2021 mini tournament after defeating DPMM FC ‘B’ 3-1 in the final at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium in Jerudong yesterday.

    His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Chairman of DPMM FC, presented prizes to the winners.

    Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim played for the Warriors in the mini tournament.

    Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Haseeb bin Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim was an integral member of the DPMM FC ‘A’s championship-winning side.

    Earlier, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim bin Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj, Vice Chairman of DPMM FC, was introduced to the participating teams.

    The event continued with the introduction of the DPMM FC first-team players that will play in the Brunei Super League 2021 season as well as coaching staff.

    Meanwhile, the mini tournament saw the participation of nine junior teams with IKLS-MB5 FC, Jerudong International School, Warriors, Bang Dalam FC, DPMM FC ’B’ being drawn in Group ‘A’ while Group ‘B’ comprised DPMM FC ’A’, Striking Stars, Wijaya FC and Dash Football Academy.

    The two DPMM FC teams, Striking Stars and Jerudong International School advanced from their groups having been placed in the top two. In the last four, DPMM FC ‘B’ ran out 4-0 winners against Striking Stars while DPMM FC ’A’ overcame Jerudong International School 2-0 to set up an all-DPMM FC final.

    Jerudong International School sealed third place after defeating Striking Stars in a playoff.

    Awangku Mohammad Syafiq Hilmi bin Pengiran Mohammad Shahrom and a brace from Muhammad Akram Waqeel Muhammad Bakri inspired DPMM FC ‘A’ to the title with Muhammad Zarif Muzaffar Abdulhana Rizal scoring a consolation for DPMM FC ‘B’. Awangku Mohammad Syafiq Hilmi also bagged the best player award while his teammate Safwan Zawawi bin Sazalee scooped the top scorer award with five goals.

    The senior DPMM FC team will resume competitive action against Bakes FC on Sunday.
