Don’t get distracted from praying: Imams

Imams delivering yesterday’s Friday sermon, urged Muslims not to allow their hectic schedules or preoccupation with worldly affairs distract them from performing prayers.

“Prayers indicate our devotion and gratitude to Allah the Almighty,” Imams said.

“The Islamic month of Rejab marks the Israk Mikraj of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), during which Allah the Almighty gave the command for Muslims to pray five times a day.

“We are fortunate that lessons in prayer are taught in schools in Brunei Darussalam. Children are required to attend religious school, where they are taught the proper way to perform prayers.”

“Muslims in this country are a reverential community. As one of the main pillars of religion, we must pray perseveringly, for the security of this world and the hereafter,” they added.
