Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Takmir committee

A total of 35 orphans registered under the Community Development Department (JAPEM) yesterday received donation from the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The event, organised by the mosque in collaboration with Mukim Berakas ‘B’ was held at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Madang.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Imam of the mosque Nuzli bin Haji Jumat.

The orphans comprised 20 children from Kampong Manggis Satu and Kampong Manggis Dua and 15 from Kampong Madang received the donations via drive-thru.

Guest of honour Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’ Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon presented the donations.

The event was part of the mosque annual activity towards the orphans’ welfare as well as to raise awareness on rewarding practices during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Royal Brunei Catering Sdn Bhd (RBC) extended meal donations to the frontliners at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital and Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital, Tutong recently. RBC representatives also reached out to the underprivileged as part of the company’s annual corporate social responsibility activities.

The group led by Chairman of RBC Staff Welfare Muhammad Afiq bin Mahamud distributed food and other necessities to selected families in Kampong Jerudong to help ease their burden during Ramadhan and prepare for Hari Raya.

Throughout the month, RBC also lent a helping hand to single mothers, orphans and children with special needs.

Qudoz Event Management

In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, Qudoz Event Management yesterday continued its charitable initiative ‘Mother & Child Awareness’ and distributed 25 gift baskets and 20 hampers for orphans and babies under one year from underprivileged families registered under the Community Development Department (JAPEM).

The distribution was conducted at the VIP Parking Area of the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex via drive-thru.

President of Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) and Senior Trustee at Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab presented the gifts.

The gift baskets and hampers comprised basic baby items and necessities. “The whole world is currently facing an economic crisis due to COVID-19. In view of this, we would like to give a helping hand to those affected. Prior to this event, we managed to collect around 100 baskets with the help and support from our families, friends as well as members of the public,” said Chairman of Qudoz Event Management Dayangku Noorbaizura binti Pengiran Haji Daud.

Qudoz Event Management earlier distributed 70 baskets comprised daily necessities such as a bag of rice, milk, and sugar to families in need with the help from JAPEM to their houses.

They also distributed another 50 baskets to Muallaf community with the help of Muallaf Development Division at the Islamic Da’wah Centre, 25 baskets to Musafir single mother and widowed and 25 baskets to non-Musim single mothers and the widowed residing in Brunei-Muara District.

Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei & Progresif Sdn Bhd

Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei (YEAB) has distributed Raya baskets and contributions to 120 less fortunate students in Youth Centre in Temburong since 2008.

The activity is YEAB’s annual event aimed to involve its members in social awareness and community work.

This year, YEAB collaborated with Progresif Sdn Bhd and raised BND1,650 from multiple partners including Nexploit Services, Brunei Timber, Express Brunei, MG Premier Motors, JCWE Sdn Bhd, Boon Kiat, and an anonymous donor.

Members of YEAB and Progresif presented the donations to 10 selected families suggested by Village Head of Kampong Bokok Abdullah bin Haji Mahmud, to help ease their burden in preparation for Hari Raya.

The association expressed its gratitude to the village head and Kampong Bokok Village Consultative Coucil Adviser Abdullah bin Abas for support and assistance.
