One-hundred-and-fifty families comprising the elderly, single mothers, orphans and the differently abled in the Brunei-Muara District received donations from a collaborative community effort.
The donations comprising basic dry food and essentials including rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and others were contributed by Lianfeng Investment Sdn Bhd and Blue Ocean Tech Sdn Bhd.
UnikLearn trainees and staff in collaboration with the HeyDomo driver team and volunteers distributed the donations to selected recipients registered under the Brunei Council on Social Welfare. An-Nur Harapan General Manager Melline binti Haji Jaini said the activity aimed to involve its UnikLearn trainees in social awareness and community work.
An-Nur Harapan is a social enterprise aiming at doing sustainable good and with its UnikLearn programme’s modus operandi of providing vocational training to adults with a range of different abilities such as autism, learning disabilities and neurodevelopment disorders to bring impactful experience in a production-like fashion.
An-Nur Harapan, Lianfeng, Blue Ocean Tech, MKM, HeyDomo and caring volunteers shared in the efforts of guiding the trainees.
“We are also very grateful to heydomo for allocating their time and manpower towards the cause. It made a notable impact to the recipients all around the district efficiently and within the limited time,” Melline said.
The initiative by businesses and youth is hoped to gives positive impact in assisting the government in sharing the concern for the welfare of the underprivileged.
