Two too many

Donations flow ahead of Raya festivities

A donation handover and a religious ceremony were held on Sunday for 47 orphans from Kampong Kiulap, Kampong Kiarong, Kampong Mata-Mata, Kampong Beribi, Kampong Menglait, Kampong Burong Pinggai Berakas, Kampong Jaya Bakti and Kampong Jaya Setia.

The ceremony at the Al-Afiah Hotel was held by Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Yusof, village heads and guardians of the orphans.

The event began with the recitation of Doa Tahlil and Doa Arwah followed by the presentation of donations by Datin Paduka Hajah Salmah binti Haji Hanafiah of Mirra Hanna Employment Agency.

The ceremony organised by the Brunei-Muara District Office and Mirra Hanna Employment Agency concluded with the breaking of fast.

Kampong Lumut Village Consultative Council

Seventy orphans and less fortunate families of Kampong Lumut I, Lumut II, and RPN Lumut received donations on Sunday during a ceremony organised by the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Kampong Lumut in collaboration with Aaishafika Minimart Sdn Bhd.

It was attended by Acting Village Head of Kampong Lumut I Haji Khairdon bin Haji Dahlan, who handed over the donations in the form of basic necessities.

The MPK Lumut and Aaishafika Minimart Sdn Bhd hoped that the donations will help lessen the burdens of the underprivileged ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Kampong Bunut Perpindahan Youth Committee Association

Forty-two orphans from Kampong Bunut Perpindahan received donations during a ceremony organised by the Kampong Bunut Perpindahan Youth Committee Association (IKERAB) at its premises on Sunday.

Present to hand over the donation was Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Hajah Safiah binti Sheikh Haji Abdul Salam as well as association members and residents.

Also present was IKERAB Permanent Chairman Pengiran Wahab bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim, who said the event was the 11th donation drive held to aid orphans in their preparations for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

He said, “The donations were collected from the resident of the area.”

Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre

The Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre’s (PJSC) Ibadah Friendly Hospital Committee and the Medical Social Work Department reached out to underprivileged patients on Sunday through their annual Ramadhan donation drive.

Present to hand over the donations were Medical Director of PJSC Dr Meera Sahib Kabeer and other members of the senior management team and centre directors of The Brunei Cancer Centre, Brunei Neuroscience Stroke and Rehabilitation Centre and Maxillofacial Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Centre.

The initiative saw 28 patients under the care of the Medical Social Work Department across all four districts receiving cash and donations in the form of basic daily necessities and hygiene products.

Armada Properties Sdn Bhd, Massutera Engineering Sdn Bhd, Taurean Bakeshop & Café, Royal Brunei Culinary and IBIC Sdn Bhd (Sehat) also contributed to the Ramadhan drive.

Dynamik Technologies

As part of Dynamik Technologies Sdn Bhd annual Ramadhan corporate social responsibilities, the company donated 500 bottles of water to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

The donation was presented by Dynamik Technologies Head of Corporate Services Hajah Siti Rozana binti Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad Yunos.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of RIPAS Hospital Fuad Wajdi bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Murad received the donation on behalf of the hospital.

The water was distributed to in-patients in 23 different wards by Dynamik Technologies personnel.
