Baiduri Bank organised a shopping spree and Iftar for 22 underprivileged families in the Brunei-Muara District as part of ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan’.
The families were identified through Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM). The bank also partnered with Dart Logistics in this charitable programme.
The families shopped for household necessities at Sim Kim Huat (SKH) Sungai Hanching and SKH Annajat Complex.
Baiduri Bank Chief Executive Officer Ti Eng Hui and Baiduri Bank Head of Group Treasury and Institutional Banking Awangku Nor Muhammad Nizam bin Pengiran Haji Tengah attended the event in SKH Sungai Hanching, while Baiduri Bank Head of Corporate Banking Leonard Lee and Baiduri Bank Head of Group Finance Division Chris Ang were present at SKH Annajat Complex.
Ti said, “We have carried out a number of events over the years which have been about giving back to the society. Among them is the annual Baiduri Masters Charity Golf Tournament where proceeds raised were donated to organisations that support the differently-abled and, more recently, our COVID-19 relief programme where we donated groceries to medical frontliners in Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) and Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah hospitals as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Ministry of Health.”
The event concluded with an Iftar at Tarindak D’Seni for the families, members of the media and volunteers from Baiduri Bank and its subsidiaries.
Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd
Muara Maritime Services Sdn Bhd (MMS) organised its first Ramadhan Charity Drive recently.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme was aimed at helping underprivileged families in Mukim Serasa.
The donations were collected by two groups led by MMS Technical Managing Director Geerd Breffka and MMS Commercial Managing Director Muhammad Noh bin Haji Madali.
Twenty underprivileged families received the donations. Three families will also have minor house repair works done.
KFC Brunei presented BND28,000 to seven local charitable homes and organisations at KFC Delima Serusop recently.
The donations of BND4,000 each were presented by KFC Brunei General Manager Ooi to Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind, National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP), Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA), Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, Projek Bina Ukhwah (PBU), Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA), and Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM).
The funds are from Tabung Penyayang KFC. It is a fund-raising and community outreach programme where donation boxes are placed at all KFC restaurants allowing customers to contribute to the cause.
KFC Brunei is committed to improve the community through projects and programmes including corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes such as KFC Add Hope Campaign and Projek Penyayang KFC.
Mulia Hotel hosted an Iftar for 30 Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam children, their guardians and teachers recently.
Mulia Hotel Head Marketer Brandon Tay, Mulia Hotel Operations Manager Molly Bong and Pusat Ehsan Board of Trustee members Pengiran Sarimah binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff and Audrey Choo Wah welcomed the guests.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by Tay presenting donations and Mulia Hotel senior staff presenting goodie bags.
