Doa Kesyukuran ceremony marks Teachers Day

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony to mark the 32nd Teachers Day celebration at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital yesterday.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Quality Teachers Driving Educational Transformation’.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, and Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh attended the ceremony.

The ceremony began with mass Sunnat Hajat prayers led by Imam of Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Mohammad Hasnal bin Haji Mohammad, who also led the Asar prayer.

Ratib Al-Attas and Doa Kesyukuran was read by Mosque Affairs Officer Begawan Mudim Haji Amran bin Haji Mohd Salleh.

Some 1,200 officers and staff including teachers from schools, colleges, higher institutions and technical institutions from both ministries attended the religious event.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim; Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad; Ra’es of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan; Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali; and deputy permanent secretaries and heads of departments and divisions from both ministries.
