BRUNEI Darussalam will celebrate its 35th National Day on February 23.
Mass Maghrib and Isyak prayers, together with a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and a Doa Kesyukuran will be held simultaneously at all mosques, surau and religious halls across the country in view of this. The main focus will be at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital on February 22, starting at 5.45pm.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the prayer services to give thanks for the country’s enduring peace and prosperity.
Other key places of worship include the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong, Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri, Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kampong Jerudong, Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop, Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Mukim Sengkurong, Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Kebun, Setia Ali Mosque in Pekan Muara and RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan Mosque.
In the Belait District, the principal locations will be the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque and Pekan Seria Mosque.
Meanwhile, in the Tutong and Temburong districts, the activity will be centred at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong and the Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Bangar, respectively.
