Eighteen families recently received financial aid from the government through the Community Development Department (JAPEM) after their homes collapsed or were destroyed by flood or fire.
Acting Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah handed over the financial aid to the victims.
Fourteen families from Kampong Tanah Jambu, Kampong Sungai Buloh, Kampong Pancha Delima, Kampong Delima Satu, Kampong Keriam, Kampong Bukit Panggal, Kampong Bukit, Kampong Rataie and Kampong Rupan received financial aid for flood incidents.
One family received financial aid for a fire incident in RPN Kampong Panaga in the Belait District.
Three families from Kampong Saba Tengah and Kampong Lurong Sikuna received financial aid for collapsed houses.
The financial aid demonstrates the government’s concern for the well-being of the families affected by the disasters.
