Perfecting the fundamentals of technology is key to developing a vibrant digital ecosystem. This was said by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof during a conference titled ‘The Path Towards a Vibrant Digital Ecosystem’ yesterday.
The conference held as part of Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MYCE 2022) saw Director of Eco Bumi Arkitek Ar Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman and Chairperson of InfoCom Federation Brunei Pengiran Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff participating.
The permanent secretary said the fundamentals are accessible and affordable digital payment; secure and efficient data storage centre; access and sharing of data among industries and the government for faster task completion.
Ar Siti Rozaimeriyanty said, “Having a more efficient form of sharing and storing data will greatly improve the construction industry.”
Panellists at the conference agreed that Brunei is moving forward in the development of a digital ecosystem as evident with growing digitisation among private companies and the government.
The wide use of BruHealth app among the populace, rise of cashless payment and increase in users for TransportBN app were also highlighted in the conference.
