DELOITTE Southeast Asia announced on Thursday that it hired four new graduates under the i-Ready Apprenticeship programme to fill entry-level consulting, audit and assurance positions.
The new hires were selected from candidates that attended the second recruitment drive held on November 8, 2018 in Brunei.
The i-Ready Apprenticeship programme is an initiative under Brunei’s Manpower Policy and Planning Unit (MPPU) at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry with the objective to build up local graduates’ marketability and employability.
Deloitte has been a partner of the initiative since early 2018.
The second batch of four successful graduates joins the seven that were hired from the first batch in April 2018, bringing the total number of hires under the i-Ready Apprenticeship programme to 11.
Deloitte Brunei Audit and Assurance Partner Haji Zulfariq Zara bin Haji Zainuddin said, “We recognise that Brunei has a talented pool of graduates, and we are committed to work closely with the Brunei government to not only provide employment to these young Bruneians, but also to train them and give them the exposure and skills that can benefit the country.
“We hope that through this effort, we can contribute to the diversification of the Brunei economy and help better integrate the country into the global economy.”
Megan Wong, a 25-year-old law graduate and business analyst with Deloitte’s Southeast Asia Consulting practice who was hired after the first recruitment drive, said, “I would describe working at Deloitte as being collaborative and fast.”
