A closing ceremony was held at Tarbiah Hall of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) yesterday to mark the completion of the ‘Dakwah Strengthening’ workshop.

The five-day workshop was organised by KUPU SB through its Faculty of Usuluddin and the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).

KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar was the guest of honour.

PDI Senior Religious Officer and Deputy Co-Chairperson Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, in his welcoming address, said the contents discussed will empower the Da’ie (religious preachers) who participated in the workshop. The integration of theories and practical knowledge can enhance the relevance of Dakwah strategies according to the current changes in communities.

The ceremony continued with a workshop presentation by Dr Haji Adanan on ‘Meningkatkan Kemahiran Dakwah Relevan Dengan Perkembangan Semasa’ (Enhancing Relevant Dakwah Skills with the Changes of Current Development). The presentation discussed the importance of always referring to the main source of life that is Al-Quran and Sunnah, while also understanding and practising the contents.

In practice, it is seen that the morality of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the morality of Al-Quran. Al-Quran’s contents were reflected in him in all aspects of his life including familial, leadership and community.

Meanwhile, PDI Mosque Officer and participants’ representative Muhammad Naqib bin Haji Awang said the workshop injected enthusiasm among the participants to continuously carry out their Dakwah.

He also highlighted the importance of identifying the pillars of Dakwah, as well as methods and message in delivering Dakwah.

The ceremony also saw a certificate presentation by the guest of honour to the participants.

Key officers of KUPU SB and PDI, officials from government departments, representatives from Al-Minhaj Centre, as well as certified Da’ie from Majlis Ugama Islam, and lecturers and staff of KUPU SB were also present.
