    Daily COVID-19 cases remain under 200

    For the second consecutive day, the number of daily new COVID-19 cases has stayed under the 200 mark at 172, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference yesterday. He added that no deaths related to COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours.

    Of the new cases, 149 cases were results from antigen rapid test (ART) and 23 cases were results of 935 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours, the minister said, adding that the total number of cases stands at 139,637.

    Three cases are categorised in Category 5, requiring treatment at the intensive care unit. No cases are in Category 4.

    A total of 596 cases recovered yesterday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 137,780.

    There are currently 1,640 active cases in the Sultanate with 47 receiving treatment at hospitals and 1,593 undergoing home self-isolation.

    Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin also attended the press conference.
