LEGISLATIVE Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad reminded road users that road safety is everyone’s responsibility and to remain cautious and careful.

Responding to the Bulletin on recent road accidents including fatalities, the LegCo member in his capacity as the Brunei National Road Safety Council (MKKJR) Ambassador encouraged the public to be mindful of the other road users.

He also reminded motorists to avoid using mobile phones while on the road, as this can lead to unnecessary incidents.

“A phone call or text can wait,” he said.

He shared some tips to ensure the safety of motorists and cyclists on the road and said that we should always remind each other to always use a good helmet and wear high visibility jacket or shirt.

“Use hand signals and lighting when needed and have a riding partner or ride in groups for better visibility,” he added.
