A cyclist died from serious injuries sustained in a tragic accident after a fall down in a
hilly terrain.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said that on July 20, the Lamunin Police Station received a report about a 51-year-old man found lying near a drain in Jalan Piasan at Kampong Lamunin, Tutong District.
Police investigations revealed that the man had set off for home alone on July 19, following a recreational cycling session in the area.
But when he failed to return home, his friends mounted a search for the man, who was later found unconscious next to his bicycle.
A post-mortem revealed that the man had suffered severe injuries to his ribs and neck from a suspected fall while riding down a hill, which was believed to have led to his death.
In light of the tragedy, the RBPF reminded cyclists to be cautious and exercise vigilance when carrying out recreational cycling activities.
