Cycle and Walk event promotes healthy lifestyle, closer ties

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held the Cycle and Walk Recreational Event at the PMO’s Building Complex yesterday to promote healthy living and foster closer ties among its members.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud was the guest of honour.

Also present were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali, permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries; head of departments; officers and staff of the PMO as well as departments under it.

The event began with a warming up session led by the RBPF, followed by the 10-kilometre cycling and three-kilometre walk launched by the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The event was a curtain raiser for the Prime Minister’s Office Sports Tournament for 2020.

Six sports event will be competed including 7-side netball; table tennis, tenpin bowling, futsal and badminton.

The activity also aimed to enhance solidarity, harmony, friendship and integrity among officers and staff of the PMO and departments under it.

The recreational activity also hoped to set as an example towards leadership for other government ministries and departments in practising healthy lifestyle.
