Workshops and activities help build relationships, showcase talents and share knowledge, Pertiwi Association Chairperson Fatimah binti Tanji said.

“We have cupcake decorations from the Youth and Sports Department, while PERTIWI members demonstrated how to make traditional dishes to encourage business opportunities,” she said at a cooking workshop and competition organised by the association at the Seria District Office Hall on December 13.

Members showcased their culinary skills at their stalls through exhibition, workshop and competitions.

Spouse of the Belait District Officer Nur Farhana binti Abdullah Ajak was the guest of honour.

The event showcased Pertiwi members’ talents in cooking to handicraft. She said, “Alhamdulillah, the positive response signalled success, and we look forward to more events in the future.”

Nur Farhana presented prizes to winners of the competition. The categories were making Kueh Bingka, cooking fish dishes, making agar-agar, and making decorative flowers from recycled cloth. She toured and participated in a cake-cutting ceremony.
