HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office made a closer observation of the Field Demonstration for the Regional Jungle Warfare Symposium (RJWS) 2019 at the Golden Jubilee Dam, Ulu Tutong yesterday.
His Royal Highness 920 Captain (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen was also present.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was welcomed by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.
Following a briefing delivered by the Chief Instructor of Training Institute, RBAF (TI RBAF) Major Rudie Asmawi bin Haji Abidin, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince mounted onto the Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) to take a closer look at the Field Jungle Warfare Demonstration.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince later received a junjung Ziarah from the 37 delegates taking part in the RJWS along with British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Richard Lindsay and the defence advisor/attachés for the countries involved.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also received a pesambah from the event’s co-chairs, TI RBAF and British Forces Brunei (BFB), before a royal reception.
Prior to his departure, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince signed the royal parchment and proceeded to have a group photo session.
The Jungle Warfare Demons-tration was the highlight of the RJWS 2019 organised by TI RBAF and BFB, the third since its inception in 2017.
Apart from the syndicate discussions and presentations during the symposium and expo, the Jungle Warfare Demonstration aimed to improve regional and wider collaboration in Jungle Warfare Capacity Building, Information Sharing and Research and Development at the Operational and Tactical levels, which is in line with this year’s theme ‘What are the ends, ways and means for delivering Joint and Inter Agency effects within the Jungle Environment’.
The Jungle Warfare Demons-tration was part of the collaborative effort between the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Air Force as well as the Second Battalion of the Royal Gurkha Rifles (2RGR).
