Crown Prince receives in audience UK Vice Chief of Defence Staff

HIS Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on Thursday received in audience Vice Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom General Sir Gordon Messenger.

Accompanying General Sir Gordon Messenger at the audience held at Qashr Al-Meezaan were British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Richard Lindsay and British Defence Advisor to Brunei Darussalam Colonel Mike Page.

Also present were Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, and Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud.

The defence relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom encompasses a wide range of interactions including the exchange of visits, defence and military meetings, military exercises, trainings and courses.

According to the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), General Sir Gordon Messenger’s four-day visit here reflects the commitment in further strengthening relationship and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom.
