His Royal Highness Prince Haj iAl-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday morning received in audience the outgoing Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat and the newly- appointed Commander of RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah handed over his duties to the newly- appointed Commander of RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi on March 1 at the handing over and take over ceremony at Royal Brunei Air Force Base, Rimba, Gadong.
Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah was the 11th Commander of RBAF from September 1, 2020 until March 1. He served the RBAF for 34 years.
Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi was promoted Major General on March 1. Prior to his appointment as the 12th Commander of RBAF, he held several key posts including the 11th Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) from July 30, 2020 to February 28; Commandant of Defence Academy RBAF from 2019 to 2020; Commandant of Training Institute RBAF in 2018 and Deputy Commander of RBLF from 2014 to 2017.
The audience ceremony was held at Qashr Al-Meezan.
