KUANTAN (Bernama) – A three-metre-long crocodile was sighted in a monsoon drain in Kampung Jawa believed to have been swept in from Sungai Kuantan.
Pahang Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) Director Ahmad Azhar Mohamed said the crocodile was found by members of the public at 8.30pm on Monday.
“We received a complaint of a juvenile crocodile which we believed was brought in by the tide of Sungai Kuantan. Our team waited until the water receded, but it was no longer there.
“We believe it has returned to its original habitat in the Sungai Kuantan estuary following the tide, but we will keep observing to ensure no untoward incidents occur,” he said when contacted yesterday.
