COVID: One fatality recorded

The Sultanate yesterday reported one fatality of a COVID-19 case in the past 24 hours, while there are no cases in Category 5 requiring treatment at the intensive care unit.

One case remained in Category 4 requiring respiratory assistance and close monitoring.

The latest COVID-19 situation in the country was shared by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in its daily report.

Meanwhile, 711 cases were declared recovered yesterday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 209,387.

The inoculation statistics for children aged five to 11 with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine is at 80.8 per cent, while 54.1 per cent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been administered the third dose.

The coverage rate of the country’s population with three shots of the COVID-19 vaccine remained at 75.4 per cent, while 7.6 per cent of the populace received the fourth dose.
