COVID-19 updates: No new case, recovery today


The Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham Hj Jaafar said no new COVID-19 case was recorded in Brunei today, maintaining the national tally at 141.

Meanwhile, no new recovery was recorded today, bringing the maintaining the total number of recovered patients to 136. There are currently 4 active cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.

  • Two patients remain in critical condition, where only one of them still requires heart / lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance, and one case only requires respiratory assistance. Meanwhile, the rest are in a stable condition.
  • As of today, all close contacts of cases undergoing quarantine according to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) have completed the quarantine period. A total of 2,679 have completed the quarantine period and are in good health.
  • 164 individuals are currently undergoing mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centres provided by the government for those who have just arrived in the country after traveling abroad. At present, a total of 2,176 individuals have completed their mandatory self-isolation at the monitoring centres.
  • Since the emergence of COVID-19 in early January 2020, a total of 18,193 laboratory tests for COVID-19 have been conducted.



Temburong Bridge operation hours extended

The opening hours of the Temburong Bridge will be extended from 6am – 10pm daily starting Sunday, May 24, Minister at the PMO and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah announced today.
