Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, experts around the world have been warning us on the impact of the unprecedented health crisis on the economy.
Even in Brunei Darussalam, there have been small businesses closed or on the verge of shutting down for good.
I would like to know if the authorities have plans to release a report on the economic impact of the coronavirus.
For example, how many micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been affected by the crisis? Or how many businesses have faced bankruptcy since the beginning of the outbreak in this country?
I believe it would provide a clear picture to the public on the negative impact of a pandemic such as COVID-19 on our close-knit community.
It would also be a reminder of the importance of following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (MoH) to protect our economy.
