Brunei Darussalam continues to register fewer COVID-19 cases where the weekly average dropped to 169 a day last week compared to 205 a day the previous week.

Of the 52,431 antigen rapid test (ART) results uploaded to BruHealth in a week, 2.2 per cent are positive.

These were disclosed by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in a press conference yesterday.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin was also present.

The minister said 179 new cases were reported yesterday where 178 were from ART results and one from 186 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

There is one case in Category 5 receiving treatment in the intensive care unit and two cases in Category 4 requiring respiratory assistance and under close monitoring.

Meanwhile, 77.7 per cent of Brunei’s population have received at least three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and 9.8 per cent have been administered the fourth shot.
