THE Magistrate’s Court yesterday retracted a 40-year-old man’s guilty plea to a charge of theft.

Muhammad Danial bin Abdullah Wong @ Wong Hon Yet, a Brunei permanent resident, first pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of a shock absorber and brake caliper from a vehicle located at a house on Jalan Kampong Sungai Lalit at 10.30am on February 17.

The defendant however informed Senior Magistrate Azrimah Abdul Rahman that he saw the items laid out on the ground and thought they were discarded items.

The court upon hearing this made the decision to retract his plea and adjourned the case to March 6.

DPP Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli prosecuted the case.
