The Brunei Council on Social Welfare’s (MKM) Ramadhan distribution of food packs project was held at its office in Kampong Anggerek Desa yesterday.
This year, 831 iftar food packs are being distributed nationwide, with 503 in the Brunei-Muara and Tutong districts, 171 in the Belait District and 157 in Temburong District.
MKM Vice President II Haji Mohd Laini bin Haji Majid said the funding of the project contributed by the public will be carried out for 20 days.
MKM will distribute alms from the zakat collected from the public and individual contributions to its registered clients, he added.
The project also involves the MKM Youth Wing and volunteers from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Universiti Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA). – Lyna Mohamad
