The role of Brunei Youth Council (MBB) is to provide a platform for youth movements to gain traction and provide a network among youth organisations, government agencies and private sector.
This was said by Legislative Council member and MBB President Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash’ari yesterday during the first Muzakarah between MBB members and its strategic partners at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
She added that the council is committed to increasing youth participation in general and youth movement in particular through various progress within and outside the country, including virtually.
Sixty youth, comprising of 27 youth-led organisations from various sectors and districts participated in the discussions, that aimed to update members on the new council representatives, amendments on the council constitution and calendar of youth events and coordinate cooperation between the council and youth movements.
The programme also included a review of the MBB constitution as well as group discussions on different thematic areas such as community and welfare, economy, creative arts and religion.
The event concluded with a Hari Raya celebration with invited guests.
