Costly to increase pension for 26,000

I REFER to the letter ‘Raising pensions can create a win-win for senior citizens, restaurant business’, which was published on October 18, 2017.

To increase the pension by B$250 per person per month for 26,000 senior citizens, will cost the government B$78 million a year.

The cost for one month is B$6.5 million. And for each B$10 increase per month, it will cost the government B$3.12 million a year.

It is big money.
