The Belait District Islamic Da’wah Centre yesterday held a closing ceremony for the 191st series of the Basic Muallaf Guidance Course.

The event was attended by 14 new male converts, who underwent the two-week course early this year.

Guest of honour Head of the Halal Food Control Division at the Belait District Religious Affairs Office Mohd Noor Suffian bin Haji Yahya advised the participants to continue striving for more knowledge, in order to enrich their daily lives.

Abdul Malek bin Datu Maharaja Setia Haji Muhammad Simpok then delivered a speech, on behalf of the new converts, thanking the teaching staff at the centre for helping them to gain basic knowledge on Islam.

Later, the guest of honour presented the participants with their certificates, as well as trophies to the top three who scored the highest marks in a test given towards the end of the course.

In first place was Muhammad Aqil Augustine bin Muhammad Othman, followed by Muhammad Ade Yusaire bin Abdullah Satur in second place and in third by Muhammad Shahrizal bin Abdullah Munan.
