The Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) through the Muallaf Development Section (welfare), in collaboration with the Districts Dakwah Unit, continued the weekly Munajat with converts via Zoom on Tuesday evening.

The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah by PDI Director Haji Abd Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh as the guest of honour, followed by a mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin led by Bilal Grade I Haji Mokhsin bin Karim @ Mokhsin anak Pendam of Kampong Semabat Religious Hall, Temburong.

The event continued with the recitation of Doa Memohon Terhindar dari COVID-19 read by As-Syahadah Muallaf Youth Advisor of the Youth Religious Programme under the PDI Muhammad Samira Razin bin Abdullah Sambut @ Samira bin Sambut, and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) graduate Muhd Nafis @ Muhd Najib bin Sanif.

The Munajat was led by religious teachers (converts), PDI special recruitment bilals, converts who completed Advance Guidance II course and winners of Al-Quran Competition for Converts organised by the centre.

Legislative Council (LegCo) members Yang Berhormat Hanapi bin Mohd Siput and Yang Berhormat Haji Umarali bin Esung attended the event, along with PDI Assistant Director Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar and officers.

Around 150 converts also joined the event, streamed live on PDI’s Instagram.

The programme was launched on November 9 to pray for Allah the Almighty’s protection against the COVID-19 outbreak.

It aimed to instil a sense of responsibility particularly among the converts to carry out religious activities in upholding the government’s vision to make Brunei Darussalam a Zikir Nation.

It was also a platform for PDI to continue guiding the converts.
