Contraband seized in joint patrol

A massive haul of 430 cartons of cigarettes of several brands and 36 bottles of alcohol were seized during a joint patrol operation at the forested border areas of Kampong Lumapas recently.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the Company ‘C’ Police Reserve Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The case was revealed by Assistant Commanding Officer of the unit ASP Azhan bin Anuar during a press briefing.

According to the RBPF, several suspicious boxes were found containing contraband items around the forested areas on Simpang 127 near the industrial area in Kampong Lumapas.

The Kampong Ayer Police Station was immediately informed, and the case was transferred to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation.
