Contraband haul in Temburong operation

Contraband was seized during a joint operation at three locations in Temburong District recently.

The operation, involving personnel from Temburong Police District, the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Internal Security Department, targetted houses in Kampong Sungai Sulok, Pekan Bangar Baru and Kampong Sungai Tanit.

One carton, 10 packets and 20 sticks of cigarettes as well as BND3,291 cash believed to be proceeds from sales of the contraband were found at one of the locations, while 485 cartons of cigarettes as well as 46 bottles and 722 cans of alcohol were found at another location.

The operation was led by Commanding Officer of Temburong Police District Superintendent Haji Irham bin Haji Muhd Arshad. All items were seized by the RCED.

Meanwhile, no offences were found during an operation by the Special Operation Unit of the Marine Police, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the RCED and Halal Food Control Division on the waterways of Brunei-Muara District recently.
