Construction company fined for improper waste management

A local construction company was levied with a BND500 compound fine by the Tutong District Office Enforcement Unit for leaving construction waste in public areas – a violation under the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021.

According to the Tutong District Office, the company must settle the fine within seven days.

If failing to do so, the company will be brought to court and can face a fine of at least BND2,000 and not more than BND10,000 for the first offence and a fine of at least BND10,000 and not more than BND30,000, imprisonment of not more than 12 months or both for subsequent offences.

The Tutong District Office Enforcement Unit reminded the public to maintain cleanliness of the surroundings and public areas.
