On the auspicious occasion of the 37th anniversary of the independence of Brunei Darussalam, on behalf of the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China, I wish to extend to you, to the Government and people of Brunei Darussalam, my warmest congratulations and best wishes.

China and Brunei are neighbours boasting traditional friendship. The solidarity in the COVID-19 responses demonstrates the solid foundation and strong resilience of our Strategic Cooperative Partnership. I attach great importance to the development of China-Brunei relations, and stand ready to work with you, taking the opportunity of the 30 anniversaries of the establishment of China-Brunei diplomatic relations and China-ASEAN dialogue relations, to synergise the 2035 Long Range Objectives of China and the Brunei Vision 2035 to achieve new progress in our bilateral relations and bring more welfare to our countries and peoples.
