Competition winners take home prizes

TWENTY-SIX students who showcased their talents in the ‘Peraduan Melukis atau Mereka Bentuk Kata-Kata Mutiara yang Menunjukkan Kaitan Di Antara Obesiti dan Corak Permakanan Yang Tidak Seimbang/Kurangnya Kegiatan Fizikal/Masalah Kesihatan Dalam Kanak-Kanak Sekolah’ received prizes yesterday.

The prize presentation, organised by the Women’s Institute of Brunei Darussalam (WI) in collaboration with the Brunei-Muara District Office, was held at the Brunei-Muara District Office.

The competition, themed Menyemai kesedaran mengenai pemakanan sihat dan halal untuk kesihatan rohani dan jasmani, was one of the activities for the Healthy Kids Contest 2018 held to enliven His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 72nd birthday celebration.

Acting Director of Schools at the Ministry of Education Dr Hajah Zurina binti Haji Harun was the guest of honour.

WI Advisor cum event co-chairperson Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohammad Ali noted that it is the committee’s intention to promote a healthy lifestyle to improve the health status of the people of Brunei.

The event continued with the prize presentation to selected recipients, who included the grandchild of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pengiran Nur Aabidah Syifa binti Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar from the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Secondary School.

A further 64 participants will receive consolation prizes at a later date. The ceremony ended with a Doa Selamat recitation.
