A company was slapped with a BND500 compound fine by the Law Enforcement Unit of the Tutong District Office for illegally disposing rubbish in public areas.
The offender was given seven days to settle the fine. The failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court.
If guilty, they will face a fine between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence, and between BND10,000 and BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months, or both, for subsequent offences.
The agency reminded the public, especially companies and owners of commercial premises, to maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings and not to dispose rubbish in public areas. – James Kon
