THE Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) issued a compound fine to a local company for improper disposal yesterday.
Nur Zafirah Engineering Sdn Bhd was fined BND500 for disposing construction material at the surrounding business premises at Kuala Balai, a violation of Chapter 30, Section 12(1)(d), of the Minor Offences Act.
The company was given seven days to settle the fine. If convicted a BND1,000 will be imposed for the first offence or a month’s imprisonment, while a second or subsequent conviction will result in a BND3,000 fine and jail not exceeding three months.
