Company fined for disposing construction waste

A local company was levied a compound fine of BND2,000 on Tuesday by the Enforcement Unit of the Tutong District Office for leaving construction waste in public areas.

The offender violated Section12 (1) (f), Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021 and was given seven days to settle the fine.

Failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court.

If found guilty, they will face a fine between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence, and between BND10,000 and BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months, or both, for subsequent offences.

The agency reminded the public, especially companies and owners of commercial premises, to maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings and not to dispose rubbish in public areas. – James Kon
