A company found littering at an open field in Kampong Lubok Pulau recently was fined BND1,000 by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe).
A nearby CCTV caught staff members disposing unwanted construction materials from their vehicle onto the field. The company was given seven days to settle the fine.
The failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court and face a fine between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence, and between BND10,000 and BND30,000 and imprisonment of up to 12 months, or both, for subsequent offences. – Daniel Lim
