The Licensing and Enforcement Section of the Brunei Muara District Office fined four companies in separate operations on November 3, 5 and 9 for violating Chapter 12(1) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021.
Meanwhile, an individual, Khairul Aiman bin Haji Kamal Ariffin, was also fined on November 3 under Section 12 (1) (a) of the act.
Business owners are reminded to take these offences seriously, pay fines promptly and clear any waste from dumping sites to avoid penalties.
The failure to comply could result in fines up to BND3,000 for individuals or BND30,000 for companies, or up to 12 months’ imprisonment. – Lyna Mohamad
