Companies celebrate Raya festivities

The Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with their stakeholders, partners, and the surrounding communities as part of the ‘Warna Warni Aidilfitri with BSP’ yesterday at Pusat Insani, Seria in the Belait District.

BSP Managing Director and Shell Country Chair in Brunei Darussalam Agnete Johnsgaard-Lewis said in her welcoming remarks, “In line with our mission of ‘Sustainably Powering Brunei’, we have worked closely with local entrepreneurs to bring you various traditional cuisines which I hope will bring joy in celebrating the festivity.

“The event represents the first time in three years that BSP was able to host such a grand celebration to commemorate the Hari Raya celebration,” she added.

Also present were Pehin Datu Paduka Raja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Shari bin Ahmad, Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman, LegCo member and Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann and Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad.

Sabre Travel Network (Brunei) Sdn Bhd

Over 180 travel industry partners and associates of Sabre Travel Network (Brunei) Sdn Bhd (Sabre Brunei) attended a Hari Raya open house hosted by Sabre Brunei yesterday at the Dubai Hall of The Airport Mall.

The attendees included Sabre Board of Directors and industry leaders from the airlines, national tourism offices, banks, travel agencies and corporate associates.

Sabre Brunei General Manager Abdul Halim bin Haji Abdul Rahman was impressed with the turnout for the celebratory open house. He said, “The Sabre Hari Raya open house was a great success judging from the attendance and compliments received. As the leading travel provider, events such as these are a good platform for us to bring together our travel partners to celebrate, as well as allowing everyone the opportunity to connect and exchange the latest insights on the travel industry.”

Al-Hijrah Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd Managing Director Haji Shamsul Baharin bin Haji Abdul Rahman said, “This celebration is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our peers, and to network with people who work for Brunei’s travel and tourism industry.”

Mitsubishi Corporation hosted a Hari Raya open office for its business partners and associates in a joyous atmosphere at Tarindak D’Seni in the capital yesterday before the Syawal month ends on Saturday.

The attendees included senior government officials, foreign envoys as well as associates from the oil and gas industry.

Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation Brunei Liaison Office Tadashi Hara shared that their history began in the 1960s and it took off in earnest when Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd was established in 1969 with Mitsubishi’s first office was set up in the Sentosa Hotel in Kuala Belait in 1971.

He said, “Our association with the people of Brunei now exceeds 50 years. Since then, there have been many interactions among us, and it is with great pleasure to say that I have been part of them.”

Following his welcoming remarks, Tadashi then presents donations to 10 orphans, made up of students from Rimba II Secondary School.

Guests at the event were treated to a buffet of Hari Raya delicacies as well as entertainment by a local band rendering festive songs.

Network Integrity Assurance Technologies Sdn Bhd

Network Integrity Assurance Technologies Sdn Bhd (NiAT), a local satellite communication service provider, hosted a Hari Raya gathering for its staff and Board of Directors at the I-Lotus Restaurant recently.

Chief Executive Officer of NiAT Lim Ming Soon, in his remarks highlighted the strong bonds shared between staff and management.

The event also saw gifts presented to mark Mother’s Day and best dressed award to its staff.
