Companies, businesses to submit enterprise annual census

The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES), Ministry of Finance and Economy is seeking the cooperation of companies and businesses in the Sultanate to complete the ongoing Annual Census of Enterprise (ACE) 2023 before February 28.

ACE 2023 is conducted to collect the latest information on the profile and performance of business enterprises in the private sector, particularly the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that are active and collect information on the type of economic activity, number of employment, revenue and expenditure of the businesses for the references year 2021 and 2022, according to the JPES. Companies and businesses are requested to contact the JPES if they have not received the ACE 2023 questionnaire before the closing date.

The questionnaire can also be downloaded from the JPES’ official website.

The ACE 2023 is conducted under the Section 9 Statistics Act, Chapter 81 from the Laws of  Brunei Darussalam.

Businesses information collected from the census will be kept confidential and used for official statistical purposes only.

Under Section 9 Statistics Act, failure or reluctance to give the required information or furnishing false information is an offence which carries a penalty of a fine of BND4,000.
