    Community bonds through wellness, faith

Some 150 people comprising converts and non-Muslims residing in the Tutong District participated in the ‘Riadah Ukhuwah’ programme at the Seri Kenangan Beach on Saturday.

The event saw the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, led by an officer from the Tutong Dakwah Unit followed with welcoming remarks by the head of delegation. Recreational activities began with an aerobic session, followed by sports events and a prize presentation by the head of delegation to the winners.

Organised by the Tutong Dakwah Unit in collaboration with the Dakwah Development Division, Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) and the Tutong District New Muslim Converts Association (PESATU), the event aims to answer the call of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah on dealing with mental symptoms by encouraging a healthy lifestyle. It also served to encourage participants to be active in physical fitness activities as well as establish close relationships between converts and non-Muslims in the community.
