Members of various communities donated blood to help replenish reserves in the country.
The Brunei Darussalam Telugu Association said 37 of their members recently took part in a blood donation drive at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre.
The blood donation campaign was held in conjunction with the 37th National Day celebration aimed to support efforts in maintaining the blood reserves at hospitals.
The association also said that throughout the campaign, guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 were adhered to, including temperature checks, hand sanitisation and social distancing.
Association President Chinta Rao pledged to conduct similar campaigns and charitable activities to lend a helping hand for those in need, and the blood donation campaign is part of association activities to give back to the society.
Meanwhile 29 pints of blood was collected during a donation drive at International School Brunei (ISB) last Thursday. According to the school, students aged 18 and above, parents and staff members gave blood.
The event was organised by ISB in collaboration with Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) as part of the efforts to help replenish blood reserves while raising awareness of donating blood.
