The Centre for Graduate Studies in collaboration with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s (UNISSA) Graduate Club organised UNISSA Graduate Colloquium 2020 on November 18-19.
The colloquium was aimed at observing the student’s research development, forge new research collaborations, and network with their peers and established scholars from various field of study. It was also held as a platform for the graduates to interact and discuss their proposals for an impactful research.
Eight Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates and 17 Masters candidates presented research papers which are part of their thesis and dissertation study to 15 judges comprising heads of graduates programmes and UNISSA’s academic members.
Guest of honour, UNISSA Assistant Rector (Academic) Associate Professor Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad concluded the colloquium with a prize presentation to the winners.
Noureddine Chagraoui from the Faculty of Islamic Development Management won Overall Best Working Paper, Overall Best Presentation, Best Working Paper (Arabic Language) and Best Presentation (Arabic Language). A graduate from the Faculty of Shariah and Law Zurairatul Zakiah binti Dato Seri Setia Haji Rajid won Best Working Paper (Malay Language) and Best Presentation (Malay Language), while Azilla Liyana binti Md Azam Zaki from the Faculty of Shariah and Law won Best Working Paper (English Language). Nurul Huda Asilah binti Haji Asli from the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre won the Best Presentation (English Language).
The colloquium also strived to provide a platform for graduates to share knowledge, build their skills in communication and boost confidence in public speaking.
