The village consultative council of Kampong Pandan ‘C’ (MPK Pandan ‘C’) in collaboration with the Belait District Office organised a cleaning campaign along Jalan Maulana on Tuesday.
Acting Village Head of Kampong Pandan ‘C’ Haji Affandy bin Damit led the campaign that drew 102 participants to spruce up the area. The participants comprised volunteers from MPK Pandan ‘C’ and Pandan ‘B’, Green Brunei, the Department of Schools Kuala Belait as well as the 1st Battalion, the Royal Gurkha Rifles and the Belait District Office.
Haji Affandy said, “The campaign was part of preparations for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s visit to Kuala Belait on July 22 for the monarch’s 77th birthday celebration.” – Daniel Lim
