The Brunei-Muara District Office in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) conducted a cleaning campaign at Pantai Jerudong Market last Saturday as part of the efforts to contain the COVID-19 spread.

Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting Penghulu of Mukim Sengkurong, acting village heads of Kampong Jerudong ‘A’ and Jerudong ‘B’, Fire and Rescue personnel from the Jerudong Fire Station and NDMC as well as volunteers under the NDMC and market stall operators were present at the cleaning campaign.

The cleaning campaign started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and brief remarks by the Brunei-Muara District Officer.

The campaign is part of the series of cleaning campaigns by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) through its departments of municipal and district offices to contain the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak. This initiative, under the recommendation and advice from the Ministry of Health (MoH), began last Wednesday, and covers wet markets and vegetable and food stalls throughout the country.
