Cleaning campaign marks school’s Silver Jubilee

STUDENTS, teachers and staff of Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA), Kuala Belait along with parents and guardians held a cleaning campaign recently.

Held in conjunction with the school’s Silver Jubilee celebration, the cleaning campaign is part of a series of activities to mark the 25th anniversary.

Deputy Principal (Administration) of Sayyidina Ali Secondary School Hajah Mazizan binti Haji Mohammad said the students were split into eight groups to focus on different sections of the school such as the main entrance, surau, assembly point, classroom blocks and canteen.

The campaign started with the gathering of the participants at the assembly point followed by the singing of the national anthem and school song.

The participants participated in a warming-up session followed by a safety briefing by Md Rafi Fakhrullah bin Abdullah Bayoh.

The groups made their way to their assigned section to clean the area. The event was held in two parts with a break for Friday prayer.

The campaign was also held to ensure a safe environment for the students as well as raise awareness on the importance of maintaining a clean environment and instil a sense of appreciation and love for the school.

More than 300 people participated.

Chairman of the school’s Parent- Teacher Association Nordin bin Haji Zainal was present.

The school plans to conduct more activities including Family Day celebration, sports meet and competitions to mark the milestone for the school.
